Publication, Wayfinding Navigation, Mobile App
Wanting to experiment more with photography and publication pieces, I did a project based around Jacksonville’s Arboretum. This park is free to the public, and with that, comes a set of problems (like having no funding for proper signs). The Arboretum has a poor wayfinding system, so I set out to fix this problem with a new map, brochure, application, and signage for inside the Arboretum. Each trail was branded with iconography and a certain color in order to be easily remembered while walking. All of the photography in this project is my own. Wanting to stay true to The Arboretum’s logo, I did blocks around each title, mimicking the squareness, while using organic type and photography to mimic the frond. I also incorporated their brand colors.
